Building stronger, more resilient communities through sustainable livelihood programs.
At Baho Family, we believe in holistic development that empowers individuals and communities to achieve sustainable financial security and resilience against economic challenges.
Baho Family knows from experience that development works best when expressed holistically. Households need sustainable incomes to maintain development gains and sufficient reserves to endure natural and human-caused shocks and crises.
Helping people to support themselves is our priority. We focus on households with dependent children and youth to establish the income and food security necessary for their wellbeing and thriving.
Providing resources and training for sustainable agricultural practices to ensure food security.
Teaching saving skills and financial literacy to promote long-term economic stability.
Empowering young people with skills, knowledge and opportunities for their future.
Teenagers from low income families received small animals to increase financial stability and provide manure for their families.
Teenagers received bar soap for personal hygiene purposes.
Saving groups are formed from fifteen to thirty members (15-30) with a similar social and economic status of single mothers who live close to each other. We provide training on how to save, even on a very limited income, and how to make loans to group members for income generation.
A small loan will be extended to buy sweet potatoes, beans, tomatoes, green vegetables, carrots, onions, bananas and cabbages from farmers to sell at local markets. As group members' incomes grow, small business opportunities expand, transforming lives and mitigating poverty at all levels.
Baho Family aims to discover and grow different talents from youth in our operational areas while connecting them with available opportunities. We work closely with ABAHUJE Youth Club focusing on Rwandan traditional culture dance, poems, and songs in Byimana Community.
We are forming football, volleyball teams, and other sports to create enjoyment spaces that attract youth to attend youth corners. We also provide training sessions on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, alcohol prevention, avoiding early marriages, peer group management, and civic education.
Baho Family donated Rwandan Traditional drums to ABAHUJE Youth Club at Ntenyo-Byimana community.
Supporting cultural preservation and expression through traditional music and dance helps youth connect with their heritage while developing confidence and community involvement.
Youth members entertained in the competition of villages in Byimana community, showcasing traditional Rwandan dance and music.
Traditional performances like these help preserve cultural heritage while building confidence and teamwork among youth.
